Rain Savers

The UK daily average potable water usage per household is 150 litres per person. Over 50% of that water consumption is used on flushing toilets, laundry and for outdoor use in gardening and car wash applications. In such applications potable water does not need to be used. By using the Rainwater Harvesting System, it is possible to effectively replace up to 50% of the daily domestic potable water use with harvested rainwater and up to 85% of non domestic water use dependant on the amount of rainfall and the storage volume.

Key Points:

  • Automatic operation with top-up controller

  • Can reduce water consumption by up to 50%

  • Non-potable applications such as toilet flushing and washing machines

  • Direct feed to W.C. under mains pressure

  • Overflow c/w vermin grill

  • Internal primary ZF leaf and debris filter for roof areas up to 150m2

  • External primary VF leaf and debris filter for roof areas up to 350m2

  • Secondary floating intake filter

  • Calmed inlet for improved aeration

Log Burners (Complete with back boiler)

A wood-fuelled stove with a back boiler is a stove that provides heat not only into the room but hot water to run one or more radiators as well. In some instances biomass stoves with back boilers are used to provide domestic hot water as well.

By connecting a biomass stove with back boiler to a thermal store, it is also possible to link up with a conventional boiler which will run your central heating at times when the stove is not on or to link the stove to another renewable energy heat source such as a solar water heating system. A biomass stove with a back boiler and a solar thermal heating system are a particularly good combination as the stove can provide the majority of the heat demand in winter and the solar can provide most of the hot water demand in summer when no central heating is required.

Linking a log stove with a back boiler to a thermal store is also very useful if there are times when you want hot water and the stove is not lit. It can also reduce the time lag between lighting the stove and having hot water available if your stove is not linked to any additional heat source.
